Malayer Rug
Maylayer is the town south of Hamadan. These rugs are noted
for their good quality, close clipped pile, and high knot
count. A Turkish knot is used. This piece was woven by hand
with a 100% wool pile with a foundation made of pure
cotton.
This beautiful antique rug was handmade in MALAYER about
60 years ago. The size is 4' x 7.6'. The pile is
soft wool on cotton foundation. It has a fine texture and
calm, easy look. The colors are soft mauve red, black, with
touch of green, gold and brown.
