Sennah rugs are woven in the town of Sanandaj which is 90 miles northwest of Hamadan. The population is primarily Kurdish. The design most commonly associated with these rugs is a lozenge-shaped medallion with small repeated Herati motifs. in older rugs, the colors are muted. They use the symmetrical pattern. The pile is wool with a cotton foundation.
