Persian Hamadan.This
beautiful rug was ALL HANDMADE in the city of Hamadan. Hamadan
is the oldest city in the world. It is a better rug compared
to an average Hamadan rug. It is signed by the weaver. This
is a vintage Hamadan rug. It was hand knotted in
Iran. The pile is a very supple and rich 100% wool on
a cotton foundation. It has wonderful geometric design work
and beautiful coloring. The center has an tribal medallion,
set on a red colored field. This is a very finely woven
rug. This Hamadan has tribal symbols as part of the design
elements. This rug has elegant design work and well chosen
colors.
The size is 4.2' x 5'8". The colors are all soft in medium
tone; rustic red, blue, green, gold, olive and beige. It
is made out of wool on pile (3/8" high) and cotton base.
It's dense, durable and easy to work with.
