is an original Persian Veramin. The Veramin or Vermin
rug production came into existance during the 19th century,
and thus has no ancient weaving tradition. It is associated
with very few designs and the production is very small.
The asymmetrical knot is used and the patterns are usually
"overall", but this rug has a medallion in the
center. Veramin rugs are among the most rare of all Persian
rugs. This Veramin rug is approximately 5'1"x3'5"
and it is 100% wool on a cotton foundation. The age of this
rug is approximately 30 years. It is in excellent condition,
no repairs or damage. The pattern has a medallion, and there
are animals around the border. As with all original pieces
of art, this rug is truly a great investment and a useful
addition to any home.
