Mashad Rug
This beautiful rug was handmade about 30 years ago in the
city of Mashad, northeast of Iran. The size is 9.8' x 13'.
Mashad is one of Persia's holiest cities. It is a center
of pilgrimage for the Shia community. Situated on the ancient
Silk Road, it has long been a convenient gateway for the
export of the fine handmade carpets created there to Central
Asia and beyond. This piece was woven by hand with a 100%
wool pile with a foundation made of pure cotton.
The colors are wine red, blue, green, olive, ivory and orange.
This rug has full pile of wool (3/8"high) and original fringes,
healthy, durable and dense, expected to last for generations
and keep the resale value. It is in clean and in very good
condition, no wear, no tear, and no problem.
