DAULATABAD
TRIBAL AFGHAN This WOOL tribal runner was HAND WOVEN in
Afghanistan on WOOLEN foundation by a nomadic tribe, probably
the ESARI. Daulatabad is a major trading center for rugs
in Northern Afghanistan. It has a geometric design. It has
a relatively small medallion in the center. On each end
there is an identical, large, geometric vase and flower
design. The wide border is simple. The principal colors
are red, ivory and blue. There are many secondary colors,
which are mostly earth tone colors. This rug measures 3'10"x7'1".
100% wool pile; 100% wool base.
