beautiful rug was ALL HANDMADE in the city of Hamadan, Iran.
Hamadan is the oldest city in the world. It is a better
rug compared to an average Hamadan rug. This is an
rare geometric Hamadan rug. The pile is a very
supple and rich 100% wool on a 100% cotton
foundation. It has wonderful geometric design work and beautiful
coloring. The center has an tribal medallion, set on a red
colored field. The ground of this rug is black, which is
rarely found in Persian rugs. This is a very finely
woven rug. This Hamadan has tribal symbols as part of the
design elements. This rug has elegant design work and well
chosen colors. Note the distinctive shape of the medallion
in the center!
The size is 5'.0" x 9'9"". . It is made out of wool
on pile (3/8" high) and cotton base. It's dense, durable
and very unusual.
