The Center of Bakhtiari weaving area is found south-east of Esfahan in Shahr-a-Kurd (composed of severla hundred villages). Today their carpets come from the Zagros region of the Chahar-Mahal and rugs of lesser quality are known after their place of manufacture, such as Bibibaff, Saman or Hori.Great variety of colors due to use of natural dyes.. Main colors are many shades of Ivory, white, red, brown, green, and yellow blue.Warps and wefts are of cotton.There are wide variation in quality and price between different carpets from this provence, ranging from consumer carpets through the whole gamut up to excellent collector's pieces. Hori carpets are generally of lower quality while Bibibaff, Chahal Shotur and Saman pieces are good to excellent. and this one is from Saman. Old and antique Bakhtiari rugs are sought after and are collector pieces. Nomad carpets have a special charm and are distinguished for their beautiful patina.
