How We Clean:

We use the Authentic Persian Hand Wash Technique. This is a gentle but thorough method of cleaning your tapestry or rug. There are up to 10 steps used to insure quality results and to provide the most extensive cleaning ever.

Pre-inspectionStep 1:
We pre-inspect rug for any damage. Also, at this point we take a photo of the rug for documentation. If we find any problems, we will contact you to discuss solutions.

VacuumStep 2:
We vacuum front and back to remove loose soil and grit. Our machine uses specially patented gold brushes. These brushes rotate counter clockwise to gently massage all sides of the rug pile. This helps remove deeply embedded soil and dirt.
Dye testStep 3:
The rug is then tested for fugitive dye bleed. This process takes 24 hours, with each color being tested. If dye bleed does occur, we will contact you for alternate procedures.
Hand cleaningStep 4:
Next, we hand clean the rug front and back using a soft horsehair brush and our specially formulated Oriental Rug shampoo.
rinseStep 5:
Our exclusive lano-rinse process puts essential oils back into the rug to keep it soft and supple. Then we add a special conditioner that prepares the fiber for any topical treatments.
topical treatmentStep 6:
The rug is next inspected by quality control. Any topical treatments such as protectors or mothproofing are applied.
final groomingStep 7:
We groom the nap of the rug and place it in our temperature-controlled drying chamber. Special dehumidifiers and air movers are used to dry the rug quickly.
Fringe cleaningStep 8:
The fringe is then groomed, cleaned, and brightened using a specially formulated fringe cleaner.
Final inspectionStep 9:
The rug is then sent to final inspection, rolled, wrapped, and delivered back to you. The turnaround time is usually 2 weeks, not including shipping time.
Step 10:
We follow up with an e-mail or phone call to be sure everything was satisfactory.
